Full Circle — by Lynette Slaman Garcia

Full Circle

I have traveled, journeyed far –

into the recesses of my own desires;

walked the path of forgetfulness –

found naught but despair and emptiness .

From the ordinances I did run –

needless hardships, morals shunned;

Futile willful disobedience

embracing things taught to dismiss.

Attempt escape proved forlorn,

trial tested and journey worn.

Full circle I  return,

lesson lived and obedience learned –

To the Covenant I now respond –

more appreciative…

more acquiescent…

more steadfast in His Cause!

This is about venturing away from the safety of the Laws given to us by the Manifestations and discovering through nonobservance –  the wisdom, protection and ultimate love they provide in one’s adherence to them. To love the laws, is to love God.  “Observe My commandments, for the love of My beauty” (paragraph 4 of the Kitab-i-Aqdas, the Most Holy Book.)

    I love this poem! A poem about us all, written by us all, about us all. An honest poem, for that is what poems are if nothing else, honest, in language of the soul it speaks to us of us! Thank you Lynette
