Jalaliyyih was born in Washington DC and grew up in Bethesda, Maryland.  At the age of nine, she began taking art classes under the tutelage of Mrs. Doreen Penson from England. In 1980 Jalaliyyih graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder achieving her MFA in Painting & Drawing.  Her art and education gave her the opportunity to travel all over the world teaching art and about the Baha’i Faith.  Over the years, Jalaliyyih’s travels took her to Liberia, on the west coast of Africa and Shenyang, Chongqing, Urumqi China.

In 2004, she returned stateside and moved to Colorado, USA.  Currently, Jalaliyyih is residing in Gallup, New Mexico where she continues to be busy with Baha’i activities and lives and works as an artist.  All Things Baha’i had the pleasure of interviewing Jalaliyyih.  Read the full interview here.  All of her art is for sale and can be viewed here.
